Our Enrollment Process

Schedule a Campus Tour & Interview

Your enrollment journey begins with a personal visit to BCS. Families are invited to tour our campus, explore our classrooms, and meet with school administration. This conversation helps us learn your family’s story and allows you to ask questions about our mission, expectations, and educational philosophy.

Prayerfully Consider Applying

After your visit and interview, we encourage families to take time to pray, reflect, and discern whether BCS is the school where God is leading their child. If you feel called to continue the process, you may submit an application for enrollment.

Submit the Application Form

Applications are completed through our online Google Form. This step helps us gather important information about your child and ensures we are able to best support their educational and spiritual needs.

Enrollment Decision & Class Availability

Once your application is reviewed, families will receive communication regarding their enrollment status. If enrollment is granted and space is available in the requested grade level, students may begin on their approved start date—either mid-year or at the beginning of the next school year.

Paying tuition is more than a financial sacrifice—it is a meaningful investment in your child’s future.

At Borculo Christian School, every dollar given toward tuition supports an education that shapes hearts, forms character, and nurtures the unique gifts God has placed in each student. Families aren’t simply covering the cost of schooling; they are investing in a Christ-centered foundation that will guide their children for a lifetime. This investment echoes far beyond today, preparing students to grow, serve, and lead with wisdom and purpose for Jesus Christ.

Financial Aid

Borculo Christian School partners with FACTS, a trusted third-party assessment tool, to help us fairly and confidentially evaluate each family’s financial need.

Through the FACTS application, families can submit financial information that provides an accurate picture of their circumstances. Based on this review, BCS is able to offer need-based financial aid to qualifying families, with the goal of ensuring that a Christ-centered education remains accessible to the community we serve. We desire to support families with integrity, transparency, and stewardship as they invest in their children’s future.

FAQ

Do I have to be a Christian to apply to BCS?

Yes. As a covenant Christian school, our mission is to “provide a quality, Christ-centered education to prepare children for lives of Christian discipleship.” To faithfully live out this mission, we partner with families who share a Biblical worldview and support our Statement of Faith. We expect both parents to be aligned with a Christian commitment, in good standing with their church, and to align with our Statement of Faith. In some cases, we may enroll a child if only one parent is a Christian.

When do applications open?

BCS accepts applications year-round. Families may apply at any time, including for mid-year enrollment, which is considered based on available classroom space.

For Preschool and Kindergarten, enrollment opens in a phased order:

  • Early Enrollment (First Week of December): BCS alum families and current BCS families

  • Open Enrollment (First Week of January): Enrollment opens to the public

Applications for the upcoming school year begin formal review upon receipt.

How does BCS use Continuous Enrollment?

BCS follows a Continuous Enrollment model, which means that once a student is enrolled, they remain enrolled from year to year until graduation or until a family notifies the school otherwise. This process simplifies re-enrollment for families and allows our administration to plan more effectively for class sizes, staffing, and resource needs. Each winter, families receive a reminder to review their information, update any necessary forms, or unenroll. Unless a family opts out during the designated window, their child’s enrollment automatically rolls over to the next school year.

How long does the admissions process take?

Timelines vary depending on the submission of required documents, interview scheduling, reference checks, and current availability in each grade. Each application is carefully reviewed by administration, and prayerful consideration is given to every decision. Families receive updates throughout each step of the process.

Can my child’s enrollment be rolled over to the next preschool program?

Enrollment rollovers are limited to specific early-childhood transitions. BCS may roll a student’s enrollment from 3-School into 4-School, or from 4-School into Young 5’s, based on age, readiness, and available classroom space.

Can we hold spots in both Young 5’s and Kindergarten (dual enrollment) while deciding on placement?

Yes. BCS understands that some families need additional time to decide whether Young 5’s or Kindergarten is the best placement for their child. Families may temporarily hold spots in both programs during the enrollment period while they gather input from teachers, complete screenings, or observe their child’s readiness.

However, a final placement decision must be made by the end of April. This deadline allows our team to plan class sizes, staffing, and resources for the upcoming year and ensures that all families have fair access to available classroom space.

What if my child has special needs?

BCS is committed to supporting a wide range of learners through our Student Support Services team and our partnership with All Belong, which equips us to create inclusive, Christ-centered learning environments. We ask families to share all relevant evaluations, IEPs or ISP’s, medical documentation, or support plans during the admissions process so our team can thoughtfully review each child’s needs.

Our goal is to determine whether we can provide an environment where your child will thrive—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. After reviewing all information, our team will assess classroom needs, available staffing and resources, and any additional training or support required.

In some cases, enrollment may be denied or delayed if:

  • A classroom has already reached its capacity for support

  • The needs of the child exceed the resources or staffing currently available

  • Additional training or support systems must be in place before the child can be well-served

When this occurs, we work closely with families to explore alternatives, recommend next steps, and ensure each child is placed in a setting that best meets their needs with excellence, dignity, and care.

Can my son or daughter shadow a student for a day?

Yes! Shadow days are strongly encouraged and are one of the best ways for students to experience life at Borculo Christian School. After completing your tour and family interview, we recommend scheduling a shadow day so your child can spend time in the classroom, meet teachers, and connect with potential classmates.

BCS offers two options:

  • Half-day shadow visits

  • Full-day shadow visits

Both formats allow students to see our Christ-centered learning environment firsthand and help families feel confident about their enrollment decision. To schedule a shadow visit, please contact the school office—we are happy to help arrange a day that fits your family’s schedule.
