Borculo Christian will be offering three different kindergarten options for the 2023-2024 school year. 3-Day, Transitional, and 5-Day.
Our kindergarten classes are designed to develop the complete child while providing them a quality Christ-centered education that allows them to develop their abilities to serve Christ and others.
The curriculum covered for all classes is the same. The Transitional and Five-Day classes also include additional and deeper enrichment activities.
There are many different paths that a family can choose for their child as they prepare for kindergarten. The link below has a few of the most common approaches.

Pre-K FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How old should my child be to register for Pre-K?
Students should be 5 by December 1 of that school year.
What days do the Pre-K students meet?
Students have class 2 full-days a week. They meet every Tuesday and Thursday of the school year.
Class Starts at 8:30 am and goes until 3:45 pm.
What is the main purpose of a Pre-K program?
The pre-k program can be viewed as a developmental kindergarten program. It has been designed to support learners who find themselves eligible for entering kindergarten that may not be ready for the regular kindergarten curriculum.
Pre-K allows learners additional time to develop in the areas of maturity, social skills, listening, self-confidence, following directions, and being separated from their parents.
Pre-K gives young kindergarten students an extra year of development, allowing them to become successful and eager kindergarten students the following year.
Must my child attend young fives before entering kindergarten?
No, we work with the parents to determine kindergarten readiness. With students who attend BCS 3-school or 4-school, our teachers will give each family a recommendation based on classroom experience. Children of eligible age for entering kindergarten can be given a kindergarten readiness test to help determine if it would be beneficial for your child to attend Pre-K. Some children are developmentally ready to enter kindergarten, while others would benefit from an additional year of Early Childhood schooling before entering kindergarten.
Is there an overlap of content areas in curriculum between 4-school, Pre-K, and kindergarten?
The BCS pre-k program has been established so that there is minimal overlap between 4-School, Pre-K, and kindergarten material. Different topics are covered to keep school exciting for the young learner. We have studied the preschool and kindergarten curriculum to ensure that it is specifically designed to fit between the programs on either side of it. Pre-K is a complement to the areas of study in preschool and kindergarten.
