The fourth graders are in charge of January’s chapel and we are planning to do an Old Year, New Year Chapel. We will be reflecting on the ways that God has blessed us in 2009 as well as looking forward to the new year. We will be putting on a skit as well as singing some songs. Please join us on Friday, Jan. 15 at 9:30am if you are able to.

The fourth and fifth graders have begun their swimming lessons. Don’t forget to send along a bathing suit and towel each day with your child for the next two weeks. Swimming lessons are from 11-12pm each day. This week we will also be finishing up the MEAP tests! Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast each day so that they can do their very best on the tests:)

That is the name of our newsletter! Congratulations to Riley for coming up with the winning name. This week we will have our first reading test on “The Gardner” on Tuesday. Students will not have review sheets for these reading tests as they are short stories that we review in class. They may however, bring their books home to reread the story (which I encourage all of them to do!). Please be sure to check your child’s planner each day to make sure they keep up on their homework.
I am really enjoying this class so far!!!

The first week of school has gone by quickly! We are all adjusting to 4th grade and enjoying it so far. I am sure we will have a great year together! If you were unable to attend the Back-to-School (parent info) night I will be sending home a packet with your child today. Please be sure to read through all the papers carefully and return those that require information. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call or email me. Also, look for our first newsletter on Monday!
Blessings,
Mrs. Studebaker
