Support Services

Education Support Services

BCS has an outstanding Educational Support Services program where students receive personalized instruction in reading and mathematics with our ESS teacher or a well-qualified paraprofessional.  In order to qualify for educational support services, a student must first be referred by their classroom teacher and evaluated by the ESS teacher.

Christian Learning Center (CLC)

The CLC provides BCS with Christ-centered educational, psychological, vocational and advocacy services for students experiencing unique needs and gifts.

School Psychologist

Our school psychologist is provided by the CLC on a referral basis. Referral forms are available upon request. Testing is done at the CLC building in Wyoming. Results of the tests are shared with all concerned parties.

Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy

Zeeland Public Schools offer the following services for BCS students who qualify: physical therapy (large motor muscles), occupational therapy (small motor muscles), speech and language therapy and social work.

Speech & Language Therapy

Our speech therapist is also provided by Zeeland Public Schools. The therapist works with qualifying students with speech problems who have been referred to her by their classroom teacher.

Vision, Hearing, Scoliosis Testing

The Ottawa County Health Department provides vision testing for students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5, hearing testing for students in grades K, 1, 2, and 4, and scoliosis testing for students in grade 6. These tests are offered on a regular basis. If the health department feels that additional diagnoses are necessary, they will notify the parents. The OCHD also provides fluoride treatment for grades 1-8.

Ottawa County Health Services

The Ottawa County Health Department also provides BCS with county wide vaccination programs, TB testing, and advice on disease control.

*Please contact Ms. Damsteegt DeJong for referral forms or if you have questions regarding any of these services. Thank You!
