About Mr. Joseph Brower:
What a blessing Borculo Christian School has been in my life! I am fortunate to be involved at Borculo Christian in many different ways. I teach Physical Education, 7th/8th grade Science and Social Studies, and I am the Athletic Director. These multiple positions allow me to see students in many different atmospheres. On a given day, I will see the same student behind the desk in the classroom, running around the gym during P.E., and playing in a sporting event after school. How cool is that! In addition to teaching at Borculo Christian, I also teach P.E. at Beaverdam Christian. So many students to keep in shape!
I grew up in Grand Rapids, attending Grand Rapids Christian High School and Calvin College, where I met my wife, Nelly. God has placed so many important people in my life that have led me to where I am today. Perhaps the most influential was my 8th grade History and P.E. teacher, who told me that he felt like he had never worked a day in his life. I knew right then that I wanted his job, and I think I have come pretty close!
Teaching at Borculo Christian certainly takes up a lot of my time, but there are many other things I enjoy doing. I enjoy spending time with my wife and my friends and family. I also love to play golf, go camping and fishing, and just about any other outdoor activity. I also love to travel, which I have not done enough of, but hopefully having the summers off the rest of my life will give me ample opportunity.
I am very excited to begin the journey of another school year, and I pray that God will continue to bless this faithful community!
